Questions You May Have

You do not require a doctor referral to receive physiotherapy treatment at The Injuries Centre. However, you may require one for your extended health benefit coverage for treatment or assistive devices.

No, physiotherapy at The Injuries Centre is not covered under OHIP. You may be covered partially or completely covered under your workplace extended benefits. We offer direct billing to many workplace benefits insurance companies. Be sure to research this prior to your first physiotherapy session. We are happy to assist you with this process.

We do not.

For any portion not covered under direct billing to insurers, we accept Visa, MasterCard, debit, cash, personal cheque and etransfer.

On your first appointment, you will be assessed by Suzanne (registered physiotherapist) with a series of questions about your pain or injury history and any other relevant information. You will then be put through a thorough physical and biomechanical examination. At all times, your pain will be respected, meaning you will not be forced to submit to tests that aggravate your symptoms.

Upon completion of the examination, Suzanne will form a hypothesis as to the origin of your symptoms. This hypothesis will be relayed to you in “everyday language” and any questions you have will be addressed. With your consent, Suzanne will perform “hands on” treatment (including joint and soft tissue mobilization, and use of modalities if deemed appropriate) to attempt to correct the biomechanical issues causing your pain. This will be followed with prescription of exercises (range of motion, stretching, strengthening and biomechanical re-education) that will compliment the mobilizations performed within treatment session.

In general, injuries treated at The Injuries Centre include any joint of soft tissue disorder that is musculo-skeletal or biomechanical in origin. For example:

We require 24 hours' notice for a cancellation, or a “no-show” fee will be applied. However, we are sympathetic to events outside of your control.
